We start our Cold Process Soap Making by slowly cooking and condensing the Merlot Wine where the drying alcohol has been completely removed. Then we freeze the condensed Merlot in ice cube trays and store in dated freezer bags. We also freeze our Organic Aloe Vera Juice and store the same way. The main reason for this extra step is to keep the Sodium Hydroxide from scorching the beneficial properties in these two fragile ingredients as well as keeping our solution at a temperature below 90° during our soap making process, thus allowing us to harbor as many beneficial ingredients as possible.
We use the highest quality oils and butters in all our Dead Sea Face & Body Bars and purchase Virgin or Unrefined oils and butters whenever possible. These terms indicate all the natural properties are still present in these ingredients as opposed to Ultra Refined which is the equivalent of boiling it to death and discarding all the natural vitamins and nutrients, thus leaving you with ultra refined ‘grease’. Think of it like this – You have a fresh, crisp stalk of bright green broccoli and put it in boiling water for 15 minutes. You remove it to find it is soggy, limp and lifeless. But, the water is dark green. You’re actually better off throwing out the broccoli (and taking some psyllium husk capsules) and drinking the water because it has all the vitamins and nutrients in it!
We use pure Essential Oils in all of our products and Natural Soaps, thus another reason for keeping our soap batches less than 90°! What are Essential Oils? They are the natural oils extracted from plant matter such as flowers, leaves, roots and stems that contain natural medicinal properties. Synthetic fragrances are made with all sorts of chemicals and while soap is rinsed off the skin, we feel that the heat from the bath or shower open the pores and lungs and these chemicals are absorbed into the body. You’re given one body – why take a chance???
Directions: Wet soap with warm water. Create lather & wash desired area. Rinse well. This soap may also be used in place of shampoos & shower gels! There is a high Dead Sea Mineral content in all our soaps, therefore please avoid getting product into eyes. Store soap on one of our Cedarwood Life Extender Trays, to maximize the life of this precious bar!
