MSM: is a natural and efficient source of  organic sulfur, which is found in keratin, the tough substance hair, skin & nails are composed of. MSM has been shown to nourish skin cells and to help repair damaged skin tissue. MSM also contains proven antioxidant benefits that can  alter or disrupt a damaging chain reaction of lipid peroxidation (oxidative deterioration) in cell membranes. MSM is renowned for allowing fluids to pass through tissue easier and add flexibility to cell walls. It also enhances tissue pliability and encourages damaged skin repair. Benefits include preserving the pliancy of connective tissue & improve problematic skin conditions.

Glucosamine: is an amino sugar necessary for healthy cartilage as well as the construction of connective tissue. It is the critical building block of proteoglycans and other substances that form protective tissues. These proteoglycans are large protein molecules that act like a sponge to hold water giving connective tissues elasticity and cushioning effects.

Calendula: we've infused Xtra Virgin Olive Oil with the healing properties of calendula because it is used to treat a variety of skin disorders, ranging from skin ulcerations to eczema. The flower contains high amounts of Flavonoids which are thought to account for much of its anti- inflammatory activity as well as medicinal effects. Triterpene and caretonoids are two other constituents of calendula that  play an important role in the herbs medicinal applications. Xtra Virgin Olive Oil : contains  Omega 9 fatty acids. It also provides us with vitamins A, D & E. The oil contains MUFA's (Monounsaturated Fatty Acids) & PUFA's (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids). These two types of fatty acids help to produce optimal health and aid in the strengthening of the body's immune system. Vitamin A is renowned for aiding the body with good eyesight, skin and physical growth. It is also an antioxidant which disposes of free radicals that can cause aging. Vitamin D is essential for aiding the body in the absorption and proper use of calcium from food and supplements.

Emu Oil - revered for centuries by the Aborigines for its incredible healing powers, Emu oil is an exceptionally penetrating and transdermal oil. It has been clinically documented to penetrate beyond the subcutaneous level of the skin, to the joint. Dead Sea High Magnesium Brine: The Dead Sea is renowned for its excessively high mineral content already. Using High Magnesium Dead Sea Brine aids in faster restoration of the skin. Due to its high mineral content the water actually feels like an oil. When visiting the Dead Sea, your body is literally buoyant due to the mineral concentration. We specialize in skin disorders and problems; therefore we decided to import the High Mag Brine to get the added magnesium in our products. Our supplier tells us that this particular brine has 41% magnesium content vs. standard Dead Sea brine contains 33% magnesium content.

FYI: The Dead Sea Brine is renowned for killing athlete’s foot fungus.  It has been documented that psoriasis sufferers are actually lacking magnesium in the skin scales & serum levels of the skin.

The following is breakdown on the highest concentration of minerals found in the Dead Sea and their skin- benefits:

Magnesium : 15 times higher concentration in the Dead Sea than the salt content of other seas. Essential for cell metabolism. Activates enzymes thus accelerating the regeneration of a cell. Also renowned for other properties such as tightening, toning, refreshing & retaining moisture.   

Potassium: is necessary to maintain the water balance in order for cell metabolism to take place, assisting the cells to absorb nourishment and expel waste products. This mineral has anti-bacterial & astringent properties as well as aiding with regeneration & growth of skin cells.      

Sodium Chloride: is necessary to maintain the correct balance of alkaline and acid in the body, together with being vital for proper cell metabolism.

Calcium: is necessary in strengthening cell membranes and cleansing the pores. It is alkaline in nature. It is also considered to be a building block for corrective tissue under the skin’s surface.

Bromide: Found to be 50 times higher in the Dead Sea. Known for its relaxing & soothing effects as well as assisting in the relief of skin disorders such as eczema, ichthyosis, psoriasis & seborrhea. Also considered to be a natural antibiotic. This mineral is one of the main reasons Thalassotherapy (use of mineral sea salts & brine) is extremely effective for Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue Syndrome patients.         

Sulphur: helps to convert toxins to non-toxins, it is necessary for synthesizing collagen and is also essential to enable cells to breathe.  

Zinc: beneficial in the creation of collagen, aids in wound healing & protein synthesis. When researching the skin disorder, Rosacea, we discovered research indicates ther is a lack of Zinc present in the skin.      

Bitumen : is a natural tar that acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and is very beneficial for serious scalp & skin disorders.

Iodine: has a vital role in maintaining the energy level of the body, as well as assisting with strong & healthy hair, skin, teeth & nails. Iodine also plays a large role in destroying toxins in the body and  aids our systems with the proper utilization of calcium and silicone.

Tocopherol Acetate or Vitamin E: is a major antioxidant nutrient which retards cellular aging due to oxidation. When applied to the skin it neutralizes free radicals in the body that cause tissue and cellular damage. Vitamin E also contributes to a healthy circulatory system, helps maintain soft & supple skin, aids in proper blood clotting and improves wound healing.

Unrefined Shea Butter:  Derived from the shea nut found in the Karite tree in Africa, this butter has a smoky, ivory-green color and noticeable nutty scent. Due to the scent & color, most Shea butter found in products today has been ultra refined. The processes to ultra refine the butter incorporates high heat for extended periods of time to remove the color and scent from the butter. Given that information, we realized that the high heat must also alter/ruin the natural vitamins & nutrients found in the unrefined butter. Our butter comes direct from Africa and comes with a certificate of analysis to be free of contaminants. Unrefined Shea butter has a very high content of vitamin A. It contains 10 phenolics - 8 of which are catachines, which are deemed to have high antioxidant properties. It also contains five fatty acids that are extremely moisturizing & hydrating for the skin.

Organic Kokum Butter: this butter is obtained from the fruit kernel of Garcinia Indica tree, which grows in India. It has very high content of stearic & oleic triglycerides.  Kokum butter has been used as an astringent, local application to ulceration and fissures of the lips, hands, and feet.

Virgin Coconut Oil: hand expressed from the fresh coconut meat without the use of harsh chemicals, it is non-irritating, soothing & easily absorbed by the skin. In its unrefined stage, it contains natural antioxidant properties as well as properties that make the skin smoother and more evenly textured.

Perilla Seed : this wonderful oil is cold pressed from the seed. It produces an oil rich in vitamins and amino acid. It contains 50-60%  Alpha-Linoleic Acid (ALA) which is also called an Omega-3 fatty acid or better known as an Essential Fatty Acid (EFA)  and can aid in the treatment of skin disorders such as eczema and psoriasis. The high ALA content helps the skin and hair retain moisture. Other properties include: Anti-inflammatory , Antiseptic, High ALA content aids in: retention of  moisture in skin and hair & aids in treatment of skin disorders.

Golden Jojoba Oil: this incredible oil is actually a natural wax. Derived from the jojoba plant, its oil has an almost identical match to the oil/serum found in our sebaceous glands. It is very penetrating, moisturizing & hydrating for our skin. It helps reduce stretch marks and wrinkles, lightens and heals scars, acts as a humectant by creating a protective film barrier over the skin that seals in moisture, returns the skin to its natural pH balance and dissolves clogged pores.

Allantoin: Derived from the healing herb, comfrey, The FDA (Food & Drug Administration) has classified it as a skin protectant. It has been known to clean away dead skin cells & support normal cellular renewal. The Physicians Desk Reference (1970, page956) states that allantoin has been reported to liquefy pus and necrotic protein, thus accelerating debridement of lesions and denuded areas. It is also known for regenerating aging tissue. Due to these known facts, we  incorporate this moisturizing organic compound into as many of our products as we possibly can!

Panthenol (AKA - Pro-Vitamin B5):This vitamin is like a “wonder drug”! It aids in soothing, repairing, restoring & enhances healing for hair, skin & nails. It provides long lasting moisturization and has tremendous penetrating capabilities. It is converted to a Vitamin B complex and Vitamin F which assists in collagen repair and decreases fine lines & wrinkles. It also aids in thickening the hair, reduces inflammation on the skin & increases natural nail flexibility! We told you it was a “wonder drug!”

Vegetable Glycerin: is a wonderful humectant for the skin. It aids by maintaining the moisture level in the skin by drawing moisture from the air.

Silk Protein - is a free amino acid that has been derived from pure silk fibers. It is easily absorbed and penetrates deep into the skin forming a moisture retentive film as well as enhancing the feel.This silky, lustrous ingredient  imparts oil absorption, improves leveling and accentuates application characteristics. It enhances the feel and adhesion properties of these preparations and provides skin with a silky, lustrous appearance. The silk peptides provide the healing of the skin and quickens the healing of surface injury to the skin: therfore preventing chapping or aiding with the healing of chapped skin which reduces skin wrinkling and helps prevent skin damage from dust, paint, acid, alkali and other chemicals.

Essential Oil & Menthol Blend: Our exclusive custom blend combines the natural antiseptic, antimicrobial, antifungal, restorative and stimulant properties of 5 essential oils along with the cooling & pain relieving effects of menthol crystals. Most products over emphasize the use of menthol, camphor or turpentine to trick the brain by over riding the senses with the powerful camphoric odor; thus leaving you with an unpleasant medicinal aroma. Our product will not leave you smelling like a medicine cabinet, horse liniment or worse yet - like a bottle of turpentine fell on you!

Capsaicin: The substance that makes Peppers HOT is an oil called Capsaicin which is  mainly concentrated in the veins of the pepper. Our capsaicin is derived from one of  the hottest of all peppers - the Caribbean Red Habanera. It's Scoville Units rank in around 225,000 to 550,000! Capsaicin works by depleting the formation of a chemical called Substance P that the body produces which sends a signal to the brain that there is pain. It works best for joint pain such as fingers, elbows and knees because they do not have large areas of muscle surrounding them. Creams and ointments that contain Capsaicin must be used 3-4 times a day for them to work properly. Capsaicin also gives a warming sensation on the skin. Always do a Patch Test above your elbow before applying liberally & Do Not touch your eyes or sensitive/delicate skin areas until you WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY!
